Charles Rigoutat started making oboes professionally in 1922 and was succeeded
by his son Roland in 1945. The company continues to be run by Roland's son Philippe. The
Rigoutat serial number system consists of three different formats: a single letter
followed by numbers, diplicate letters followed by numbers, and ascending letters followed
by numbers. They currently manufacture Oboes, English Horns, and the Oboe D'amore.
If you note any discrepancies, or have
additional information concerning this company, we would appreciate it VERY much if you
would pass it on to The Music Trader. Thank you!
